Reclass — Privacy Policy

Reclass is a worldwide alumni network that helps adults aged 18 and overfind and reconnect with the classmates they knew at school. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Reclass you agree to this policy.

Who we are

Information we collect

• Account information. When you use Reclass, an account is created for you (either a guest account or an email/password sign-in). We store a user ID and, if you sign in, your email address.
• Profile details you provide. Your display name and, optionally, a profile photo.
• Age confirmation. A record that you confirmed you are 18 or older.
• Schools and years. The schools you search for or add, and the year ranges you tag for the schools you join.
• Connections and messages. Friend requests, your friends list, and the messages you send in chats.
• Safety data. Users you block and any reports you file about other users.
• Notifications. A push-notification token for your device, so we can notify you (for example, when a classmate from your years joins).
• Photos. If you choose to set a profile picture, we access the photo you select from your device. We only use the image you pick.

How we use your information

• To create and run your account and profile.
• To let you search schools, join them, and find classmates whose years overlap yours.
• To send and deliver friend requests and chat messages.
• To send push notifications you have allowed.
• To keep the app safe — handling blocks and reviewing reports of abuse or objectionable content.
• To confirm the app is used only by adults (18+).

How your information is shared

• With other users. Your display name, profile photo, the schools/years you join, and messages you send are visible to the people you connect with or share a school and overlapping years with. Do not share anything you would not want other members to see.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• Service providers. We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Messaging) to store data and run the app. Push notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and Firebase Cloud Messaging. These providers process data on our behalf.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.

Safety and objectionable content

Reclass has a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, harmful, or objectionable content and behaviour. You can block any user and report users or content from within the app. We review reports and may remove content or accounts that violate our terms.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing balasa.nour@gmail.com. Some records (for example, reports of abuse) may be retained as needed for safety and legal purposes.

Children’s privacy

Reclass is not directed to children. It is an 18+ service and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, please report the account in-app or contact us so we can remove it.

Your choices

• Edit your display name and profile photo at any time in the app.
• Turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
• Block or report other users from the app.
• Request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
